Food Pairings for Lan Rioja Reserva
This is a very deeply, darkly colored wine. Like a really dried-out blood-black color. Very rich blackberry nose, vanilla, also some mint and clove on the nose. This is the nose I expect from a great 2004 vintage Rioja. Spice box in spades here. Blackberry note is very nice and authentic tasting. Oak is right where I expect for a Reserva, adding richness and vanilla/woody flavors, but I am very pleased with it working well with the fruit, as opposed to obscuring it. 4 of 5 is my score, this is a strong producer in a strong vintage, and at $14 I recommend it.

Dark, dried blood hue, with dried black fruit, smoke and black tea nose; silky flavor notes of dusty dried black cherries and dried black plums with broad, silky tannins and a moderately long finish.
Beautiful Color and initial Nose that screams Old World Rioja. Slightly smoky spice and cedar gives way to fruity grapes. Taste bursts with smooth leather, spice, a little wood finally giving way to berries with nice final burst of a little acidity. Finish is moderately long but not overpowering. Works on its own or with food and has at least a few years of aging potential. I really like this wine both on its own merits but also for the price.
Full-bodied, smooth and silky! Great finish. Good with cheeses or even better with steak.
One of the best temprinillo I have enjoyed. Came by it quite by accident and am now looking for more.
A darker purplish hue than many tempranillos tasted in the past. Deep, yet still translucent. Nose: Cedar, vanilla, raspberry Palate: Immediate tart cherry, cedar, bountiful spice and licorice on the finish. Medium body. Moderately-high tannins. Recommend 20-30 minutes to allow this tempranillo to open up and relax.
