It makes me incredibly happy to find a dry Riesling of this quality, at this price - and best of all, it's from New York! Aromas of peach, candied orange, and green apple lead the way, supported by an herbaceous undertone. The refreshing acidity holds everything together on the palate, as the wine finishes with touches of minerals and nutmeg. Lamoreaux Landing is quickly becoming one of my favorite wineries in the Finger Lakes - from their single-vineyard Rieslings to their Cabernet Francs to their dessert wines, there is an emphasis on terroir which promises an even greater future for the region.
An ethereal riesling from estate vineyards on Seneca Lake, this 2008 has aromas of lemon and passionfruit. Its flavors are leesy and firm, with a mineral texture like fine sand; the finish strays into lemon curd and other, deeper citrus elements, like Mandarin orange. A phenomenal value, and an ideal pairing for smoked trout.
Displays good brisk lime, slate and jasmine notes, with lively acidity carrying the finish. Drink now.
This has a leafy scent of parsley to go along with notes of green apple and grilled peach. Its flavors fall toward leaner peach notes, with a fresh acidity and minerality that suggest a lively pairing with lake trout.
Lively and well-knit, this refreshing white offers bright lime, mineral and almond flavors on a firm frame. It's fruity but dry; the finish is clean and lingers nicely. Drink now.
Generous aromas of mango and lime give way to a more austere palate and steely acidity. It's clean and refreshing.
