Lamborn Family Vineyards Zinfandel Howell Mountain Platinum Anniversary 2002
Beautiful nose of plum, raspberry, black pepper and spicy undertones, which are accented with toast and cigar box-like oak tones. Silky and rich across the palate, with flavors which are consistent with the aromas. It is an easy to love wine with it's elegant balance. The grapes from this vineyard are so consistent. They always seem to produce classic, delicious zinfandel.
The first "Family Vineyard" label in California, Lamborn Family Vineyards was established in the 19'70s producing all estate grown Howell Mountain, Napa Valley zinfandel. 2003 marked their first vintage of estate Howell Mountain cabernet. Now averaging 1,800 cases annually of both wines, Heidi Barrett (of Screaming Eagle fame) has been crafting the wines since 1997.
