Syrah: One of the few grapes to really be a global success. Syrah combines a meaty core of ripe berry fruit with tones that range from herbal to peppery in a package that tends to be medium bodied with good acidity and softer tannins. Lagier Meredith only does Syrah, and they do it well. Their vineyard sits at an elevation of 1300 feet on top of a ridge in the Mt. Veeder district of Napa Here, Syrah vines reach ideal maturity and develop "Northern Rhône" characteristics, including inky black fruit, silky tannins, and an underlying minerality.
