Lagar de Costa is a family-owned winery, where the work and dedication of three generations, devoted to the Albariño vines, and to making of Albariño wines, have converged. The winery building is over 100 years old, and has been refurbished several times, always taking care to retain the original stone and timber structure. 90% of the grapes come from our own vineyards, some of which are over 50 years old. These old vineyards allow us to produce more complex wines, with their own distinctive characters and personalities. Read less

$21 at retail! I saw this in a restaurant for $45 - so quite the deal... With strong lime flavors on the nose, this is a crisp and emollient wine with flavors of gooseberry and a solid, tart and flinty structure.

Colour: yellow with greenish hues.Nose: first of all one notices aniseed (fennel), balsamic (fresh mint) and lower forest (rosemary) notes. They are followed by white fruits (pear and apple) and citrus fruits (grapefruit).Palate: well-balanced acidity, fresh, viscous. It reprises the fruity flavours of the nose. Slightly mineral finish. Medium bodied with tangy ending. - Winery

"Lagar De Costa's Albarino is the result of a rigorous quality control process, from the vineyards; they manually sort the best clusters, to the winery; they gently take care of the land, grape harvest and production which meets their highest requirements. The perfect match between the respect of traditional winemaking and the most modern vinification techniques is a must. Pale gold color, green tinge, powerful aroma with citrus fruit flavors coming through. Crisp, clean and fresh underpinned by a well balanced acidity. Pleasant, silky, round and a light mineral touch at the end. The wine is produced from 100% Albarino grapes that are over 60 years old in the Rías Baixas D.O. of Galicia. The wine is carefully vinified to capture the intense fruit aromatics and citrus-like personality. Perfect with shellfish and Asian cuisine.(Importer Notes)
