La Coupelle's warmer protected microclimate provides brooding aromas of dusty berry, crushed stone, and lead pencil shavings that are balanced by soft plum, rose petal and black cherry. The pallet yields an equally complex combination of white pepper, mushroom, root beer and incense, with expanding wild berry, black cherry, and violet fruit flavors. The wine lingers effortlessly layer after layer with Asian spice, fruit and minerality pumping through the finish. Pair it with roasted duck, grilled lamb chops or flavorful braised meat dishes like short ribs.
