Ladrón de Guevara Crianza 2005
This was an excellent year for Rioja, and this Crianza proves it! The Joven and Reserva from the Ladron are unique in their own way, but this impeccable balance of fruit and body is unmistakable. Perfect any time, with or without food!
The balance between the oak and the fruit makes this wine an outstanding Rioja wine. I could eat every meal with eat whether it is meat, pasta, or fish.
Strong, fruity, and wooden. A little bit of chocolate here, a little bit of strawberry there, and some wet hay beyond that. Mostly chocolate-focused though. I would drink it with chocolates. Boxed chocolates.
Very lingering taste. Actually enjoyed this on its own.
The 2004 vintage is out, with a slight variance to the grape composition. But equally stunning. Another excellent job by its winemaker!
I love this wine!
