Laboure-Roi Pouilly Fuissé Vallon d'Or 2012
Interesting wine. The aromatics to me feel more reminiscent of Sauvignon Blanc than Chardonnay (Chardonnay in Sauvignon Blanc clothing). Very bright flavors with herbal and slightly floral notes. Just a hint of toasty butter from the oak.Add winemaker's notes
RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Of all the nouveau for 2009 that I was able to find, this was the best. It beats out the Drouhin and Dubouef because it's a little meatier and got more depth and backbone to it for a young beaujolais.
Pleasant and smooth. Light, but by no means boring or not complex. For the price, this is a very good Beaujolais and it is versatile enough to pair with several different types of dishes.
One and a half glasses
Last Nouveau I will probably try from 2008. I really enjoyed this one. Deep purple color. Medium bodied with hints of tropical fruit (banana) and red berry, possibly strawberry or raspberry. I chilled it for about 20 minutes prior to tasting and the real fruit flavors didn't come up until it warmed up. Finish was pleasant but very abrupt. Also liked the "green" statement the winery made with planting a tree with each bottle sold and using plastic to decrease their carbon footprint. I would say it is definitely worth the $6, especially if you haven't had a chance to try Nouveau from '08.
Banana and tropical fruit with tart acidity and a light body. I couldn't resist the temptation to try at least one more Nouveau this year. Probably not the best of the bunch, but not too bad either.
bitter, no intense fresh fruit flavors really no pleasure, even keeping mind it's a Beaujolais Nouveau

New Releases: France/ Sleep and racy, offering lemon, yellow plum and grass notes. This is austere on the finish, but has persistence, so give it some time to find its balance.
Chablis Premier Cru 2006 - Critics Silver, 2010 Critics Challenge/ Pineapple, seawater. Mallow on palate. Golden apple, very dark, brown sugar.
Chablis Premier Cru 2006 - Wine Review Online/ If you've ever wondered what everyone's talking about when they mention "minerality" in a wine, try a top-flight Chablis. The limestone soils and cool climate combine to produce Chardonnay that is flinty and mineral driven rather than ripe and fruity. The Laboure-Roi Premier Cru Reserve is an excellent example of a Chablis that hits it just right between the elements of fruit and minerals.
Laboure-Roi is the biggest Burgundy producer you never heard of, producing wines from every part of the appellation from Grand Cru to Villages. Proprietor Armand Cottin is a true champion of Macon wines. So much so that the local growers have nicknamed him "the Saint' which is where the St. Armand name comes from. This Macon-Village is one of their most popular wines. 100% Chardonnay from the southern part of the region; Pouilly Fuisse is one of the villages in the Macon. No oak aging and full malolactic fermentation emphasize the bright charming fruit character. Apple and floral aromas dominate the nose and on the palate the wine is refreshing with good forward fruit, nutty hints and balanced acidity. Always a Best Buy and now ON SALE!
