- Maison Labouré-Roi has had a long-term relationship with the René Manuel estate in Meursault and has now taken over completely as the wines are labeled exclusively as Domaine Labouré-Roi. With the exception of the Chablis le Beaunois, I tasted these wines in Burgundy in February, 2004. The Labouré-Roi wines are often good values though it's necessary to pick and choose among them as some offerings are a bit too commercial in style to please purists. (Palm Bay Imports, Syosset, NY). Round, fruity and expressive on the nose with moderate Meursault character followed by pretty, round, read more...acceptably precise flavors that offer good complexity and length plus a touch of finishing warmth. This is quite fresh with a nicely dry and sappy quality to the back end. This will be approachable young but should be capable of 2 to 4 years of improvement. (hide)
