This was my first year experiencing the Beaujolais Nouveau phenomena and I absolutely loved this bottle. It was very tangy, fruity, and spicy.
Nice light straw color. Quite Chablis-like on the nose with mineral water and cooked apple predominating. Good Chardonnay flavor profile with more baked apple, and mineral notes backed up with a medium finish. Soft, warm and balanced but lacking deep sophistication or charm. Good, every-day Pouilly-Fuissé.
Lemon/wheat nose, vanilla and touch of oak on palate.

*Multi Review Flier - Pouilly Fuisse, Wine Review Online/ The fruit is so delicious that there's no knocking this wine. Fruit notes of ripe apples and peaches are vivid, soft in texture, and nicely balanced with fresh acidity.
Pouilly-Fuissé Vallond’Or 2009 - 87 points, Wine Enthusiast/ A superrich wine, full of apricot and Golden Delicious apples, with a touch of wood that rounds out the chalky, mineral texture. The wine is a delicious balance between ripe fruit and structure, ready to drink.
Established in 1832, Labouré-Roi is one of the largest wine houses in Burgundy, producing wines which respect their history, culture and terroir. Located in Nuits-Saint-George, Labouré-Roi’s state-of-the-art winery produces distinctive wines from major French appellations. The house works closely with over 100 growers to ensure each individual wine reflects the unique characteristics of its respective terroir. The winemaking team is led by 4th generation enologist Bertrand Straebler, who provides ongoing guidance in all aspects of viticulture and vinification to ensure that each bottle best represents the house style. The winery also has an impressive cellar, which dates back to the 15th century, and is comprised of 50 large format barrels called “Foudre” which have a capacity to age 5,000 liters each. Labouré-Roi, a wine house steeped in the rich history of Burgundy, delivers quality French wines at a great price, truly making French wines accessible to all. Production Area Pouilly Fuissé is considered the “cru” of the Maconnais and it is here that the Chardonnay grape is able to reach unsurpassed levels of elegance. Lying on a foundation of fossiliferous limestone identical to those found further north in the Côte d’Or, the Bajocien escarpments of Solutré and Vergisson owe their dramatic profile to the presence of hard fossil corals which have resisted erosion. The vines are planted on the slopes and at the foot of these two hills on marly-limestone soils of Jurassic origin mixed with small rocks and schist. The hillsides have an easterly or south-easterly exposure and altitudes of 820 to 920 feet. Grape Varieties 100% Chardonnay Vinification Grapes are harvested at optimum maturity. The wine is vinified in stainless steel tanks before the juice undergoes malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged in stainless steel tanks for a period of nine months before it is bottled and released. Color Pale gold with green tints Bouquet Distinct mineral notes with nuances of almond, hazelnut, citrus, peach, buttered brioche, and honey Taste Opulent and structured with natural richness Alcohol 13% Serving Suggestions Pairs well with king prawns, lobster, and crawfish, as well as foie gras, white meats in cream sauce, and many varieties of goat cheese. Its aromatic power means it can also match spicy and exotic foods such as couscous, sweet-and-sour dishes and sushi.
Pouilly-Fuissé Vallon d’Or 2010 - 86 points, Wine Enthusiast/ Named after the almost gold appearance of the Chardonnay vines at harvest time, this is a soft wine, with hints of the mineral tang that embodies PouillyFuissé. It has pear and white peach fruit flavors, soft and ready to drink.
