La Yunta Torrontes Famatina Valley la Rioja 2012
Notably aromatic of green melon and white peach. It has balanced citrus flavor with a touch of French oak to provide a crisp yet lingering finish. Wonderful as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to seafood or poultry. Native yeast fermentation. 10% of the wine was aged in French oak for six months. 44 year old vineyard. Alcohol 12.9%. Not yet reveiwed; 2011 vintage rated 87 points by Wine Advocate: La Yunta's 2011 Torrontes is a refined expression of this increasingly popular varietal. Fragrant notes of spring flowers and tropical fruits lead to a supple, flavorful, dry wine with just enough acidity for balance. Drink this solid value over the next 12-18 months.
My friends and I can't get enough of this wine and the 2011 vintage and the 2012! I swear it's the best summer white wine there is.
Delicioso! A perfect complement to a warm summer day.....been sipping on this wine with brie and crackers. Yum!!
Excellent value for summer! I found this for $8 at a local wine shop. While not as overtly floral as some Argentinian Torrontes, this has a little melon on the nose. It's nicely acidic, with a little oak and a nice crisp finish. Great for summer sipping, or with lighter seafood/poultry dishes.
