Winemaker's Notes:

The wine is a perfect marriage of the lean, food friendly acidity of the Sangiovese and the firm and juicy structure of the Merlot and Cabernet, resulting into a rich, yet nicely balanced wine that exhibits layers of lush, sweet black fruit flavors and hints of plum and spice. The well-integrated tannins will allow for early enjoyment, but will beg for 10+ years in a quiet cellar.

The Trentadue family arrived in Sonoma County long before their region gained a reputation as the Wine Country. Life-long, hands-on agriculturists, Evelyn and Leo Trentadue contributed significantly to the advancement of their region over the years. In 1959, the Trentadues decided to flee the developers encroaching on their apricot and cherry orchards in Sunnyvale, the area known today around the world as Silicon Valley. To preserve their way of life, these hard-working Italian ranchers purchased 208 acres of land in Sonoma County's then remote Alexander Valley. The Trentadue family has been growing premium red wine grapes on their 200 acre estate in the Alexander Valley for over 47 years. With vines dating back to 1886, to the adaptation of improved farming practices and the planting of new clones and rootstocks, the Trentadues continue to balance the traditions of the area's early Italian growers and the ever-evolving changes within the viticulture industry. Of the twelve varieties grown on the Estate, special attention is given to blocks of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet France that make up the four selections in our award winning La Storia line of wines and ports. Our farming practices reflect a commitment to fruit quality and to the land from which it comes. We carefully select the varieties that thrive in our microclimate and gravely-loam soils. We practice sustainable agriculture and believe we are stewards of the land and utilize all of the elements available to put the most we can offer into each bottle of wine while retaining the viability of our estate for generations to come. While the majority of our vines are supported by trellis wires, our Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and Carignane blocks are head pruned, which we believe allow these varieties to produce higher quality fruit. Although more labor is involved in farming grapes this way, the improved fruit quality outweighs the increase time and labor cost. We use soil-building cover crops which add nutrients and nitrogen into the soil, as well as control erosion and suppress unwanted weeds. All of our fruit is hand picked, mostly at night which keeps the temperature of the juice from 50 to 60 ° F, which preserves and enhances the flavors of the grapes. This is a nice Tempranillo. Lots of fruit but not as much tannin and acidity as I would have hoped. Its not a stunner but is a solid value.

The word dromos is not usually used in the English language, but it dates back to antiquity and means "doorway or grand entrance." Dromos could not possibly be appreciated in a single tasting, you need to decant this powerful "Super Tuscan" red wine. A great unfiltered wine from a selection of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, sangiovese, alicante and cabernet franc grapes, this wine can be described as nothing less than powerful 14.5% Vol. In the mouth, this blend of five grape varieties has great structure. Ruby red colour, aromas of intense black fruit, licorice, with hints of vanilla. Drying tannic finish, rich and incredibly complex, well rounded and a perfect balance... A gem! This wine is great with our veal scaloppine with mushrooms... !

We really enjoy the Fielding Chardonnay Musque which was our first experience with this wine. We thought since we were in the area we'd check out this unique winery which is located almost next door. It was well worth our time. The hostess was very welcoming in her own special way and we are definitely looking forward to our next trip. The wine has a fruity flavour. And very subtle stone under tones. Absolutely delicious!

estoy en este tiempo con vinos tempranillo monovarietales como preferidos. ya probe algunos cabernet, nebbiolo, merlot claro¡, shira, pocos eso si.... elegí al tempranillo como preferido por la suavidad. a mi esposa le gusta. por lo que tomamos desde hace algun tiempo de estos. asi que de este crianza 2006 tempranillo fue de gusto medio, ya que es menos dulce al paladar que otros... pero a mi me gusto que refleja un buen ejemplo de vino español, con todo lo que esto significa. español... serio, soleado, directo, con mucho que ofrecer. no se queda solo en lo dulce que la mayoria buscamos.... se supone...:)

Rating: 88/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the September 2010 issue. There is nothing especially subtle about this flashy and very out-going wine, and finesse is not one of its strengths, but it offers up lots of optimally ripe cherry-like fruit with overtones of black-berries and plenty of sweet oak. It is full and fleshy in feel with a bit of pert, balancing acid checking its drift to sweetness, and, if not at all astringent, it claims just enough tannin to make a few years of aging worthwhile.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Drinkable now. Further bottle aging can improve this wine.

Very bright, with fresh-cut quince, melon and green almond flavors backed by a long, mineral- and floral-filled finish, which really sails on nicely. Drink now through 2014. 850 cases made. -JM Green-tinged yellow. Spicy citrus and pear aromas are brightened by talc and quinine and lifted by a subtle floral element. Fresh pit fruit flavors combine depth and energy. Finishes with tightly focused lemon pith and salty mineral qualities. This offers excellent precision and verve. ** Only 12 in Stock **

Deep ruby red color with violet highlights. Le Crust has intense and persistent bouquet of wild berries and spicy prune with balsamic notes. The palate is full-bodied with soft tannins. A delicious, concentrated red wine that's unoaked. This is a newcomer and we couldn't be more pleased with the quality of voluptuous wine. Very pure, full of dark fruits (currants, black cherries, blackberries) and floral spices on the finish.
