Rivetti's 2005 Barbera d-Asti Ca- di Pian is a plump, juicy wine with sweet dark fruit, tar and licorice flavors although there is a slightly green quality that lurks underneath. This tasty, accessible Barbera is sure to provide much pleasure over the next few years even if it isn't as engaging as the best vintages. Nothing to rave about. Well made, but if you are paying more than $15, you could do better for your money.
