What to Expect

Barbera is one of the classic Grapes of Italy's Piedmont region, though it is popular throughout much of Northwest Italy and has gained a following in California. Searing acidity has been a trait of Barbera though modern viticultural techniques and warmer regions have tamed the acidity, resulting in medium-bodied wines with bright, red fruit tones that feature hints of violets, earth and plum with just a whisper of tannin.

Winemakers Notes

[90 pts Wine Spectator] Rich ruby red with purple reflections yield a very dense bouquet with scents reminding of Marasca cherry violets followed by plum. Fresh and fruity the acidity is balanced by generous alcohol and mild tannins. A versatile wine that can be drunk alone with cheeses or grilled foods.

A bright and fruity red, with fresh raspberry and blackberry tart aromas. Full-bodied, with lots of fruit and soft, velvety tannins. Long and delicious. Drink now.
