Member Review by Willard Cook:

We bought this wine at the Bottle King for about $17 and think it is an excellent wine for the price. Leather, grape, deep red, fairly long finish.

The vineyards, planted with 100% Sangiovese, are located in the Torrenieri zone, in an elevated section in the northeast corner of Montalcino. The wines are produced with the consultation of oenologist Paolo Caciorgna. Both the Brunello and Rosso di Montalcinos have gotten rave reviews and continue to impress in recent vintages. La Serena is poised for full organic certification starting in the 2013 vintage.  Read less
