La Serena Brunello di Montalcino 2011

Winemaker's Notes:

93 points Wine Spectator: Offers plenty of underbrush, eucalyptus, juniper and sage flavors, with animal and mineral elements. The texture is smooth, balanced by lively yet refined acidity and firm tannins at the end. Best from 2018 through 2030. 2,500 cases made. (June 2016)

Andrea Mantengoli’s family has owned the original La Serena property since 1933. In 1988 Mantengoli began estate bottling and proceeded to grow the estate from 1 to 8.5 HA. His is currently in the conversion process to become certified organic and should be complete by the 2013 vintage. La Serena is aged exclusively in 20 HL French oak for 24 months. - Winery
