La Rosée de Monbousquet Rosé Blend Bordeaux Rosé Rosé 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

"A blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2006 possesses a dense ruby/purple color as well as a sweet perfume of espresso roast, damp earth, new oak, black cherries, and black currants. Medium to full-bodied with exceptional purity, surprising intensity, good texture, and sweet tannin in the finish, this unfiltered cuvee should drink well for 12-15 years." Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Gerard Perse's home estate also produces about 400 cases of a sensational dry white made from 65% Sauvignon Blanc, 30% Sauvignon Gris, and the rest Semillon and Muscadelle. This is a wine with an expansive Burgundian texture, lots of honeyed grapefruit, fig, lemon zest, and orange rind, smoky notes, and an undeniable minerality and focus. It should drink nicely for 5-6 years.

This once unheralded terroir continues to go from strength to strength under the guidance of proprietors Chantal and Gerard Perse. A new drainage system throughout the vineyard has been installed, and... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2006 Monbousquet 750ml
