La Mozza Supertuscan Blend Maremma Toscana IGT Aragone 2007

Winemaker's Notes:

"The 2007 Aragone is a blend of Sangiovese, Alicante, Syrah and Carignano. Racy dark red cherries, flowers, earthiness and licorice are some of the nuances that flow from this textured, expressive wine. In 2007, Aragone sits on the razor’s edge of over ripeness; coming close, but never going over the top. A refined, polished finish serves to balance some of the more opulent qualities. This racy, sexy wine delivers incredible quality for the money. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2020...92"WA 10/10

The name, ‘Aragone’ refers to the Aragons of Spain, who together with Medici family of Florence dominated the region of Maremma in the 1500’s. The wine hints at a southern Rhône style with black olive aromas and ripe fruit recalls the depth of Spanish Priorat.
