My Rating: 87. Unusual grape Mencia!! Wine is smooth with restrained nose . Nice smooth taste with light tannins and some complexity
A really interesting wine that developed highly over 3 nights in the decanter. The last glass maintained wonderful balance and an earthy nose of maple, cherry, clay and stonefruits, with a fair bit of tannin and tart crabapple, cranberry and raspberry on the palette. The finish is velvetty and long-lasting with notes of plum and figs.
Cherry Red, Earthy with a distinct finish. Some tartness, med tannins. Good for the price.
The nose suggests blueberry, black currant, plum and earth notes. Smooth as silk with a lingering gentle finish. Light, but subtly textured on the palate. Tannins are understated, but present. For $9 a bottle this is an absolutely incredible value! In fact this is the best $9 bottle I’ve ever tasted. Buy by the case and drink now. 90.
Deep crimson-colored, it delivers a fragrant perfume of earth notes, mulberry, and blueberry. Layered on the palate, it has extraordinary depth and concentration for its humble price. Spicy, smooth-textured, and pleasure-bent. axialvinos.com
