La Gerla Brunello di Montalcino 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

93 points Wine Enthusiast: Chopped herb, wild berry, spice and truffle aromas slowly take shape in the glass. The palate shows both concentration and elegance, offering fleshy raspberry, crushed cherry, licorice and crushed mint flavors, bolstered by firm but refined tannins. Drink 2019-2027. Alcohol 14%.

Aromas of licorice and blackberries follow through to a full body, with silky tannins and a fruity finish. This is a refined and silky young wine. Give it two to three years of bottle age. James Suckling. A Sangiovese Grosso wine from Tuscany in Italy. 2006 La Gerla Brunello di Montalcino 750ml

This floral- and cherry-scented red is elegant and supple, picking up a tobacco note on the palate. Moderate tannins emerge on the finish, where a spicy accent lingers. Best from 2013 through 2024. 3,000 cases made. -BS Wine Spectator. A Sangiovese Grosso wine from Tuscany in Italy.

The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino presents an alluring, seductive bouquet of sweet herbs, licorice, crushed flowers, mint and minerals.
