La Famiglia di Robert Mondavi Moscato Blanco California 2008
An elegant, intensely fruity wine with scents of spice and floral notes of orange blossom and rose petal. Rich and concentrated honeyed fruit flavors are enlivened with fresh acidity. Beautifully balanced, the wine resonates like a finely tuned cello, with a lengthy finish and sumptuous return.
Not as intense as other vintages, however it will not dissapoint. It generally is very consistent Moscato, with gentle sustaining flavors and a touch of fruit. Still a great wine and a wonderful primer to those getting aquainted with wine for the first time.

Captivating aromas of lime, mint and spring flowers, with a hint of oyster shell. Juicy and lively in the mouth, with bright grapefruit and floral flavors. Comes across as much less sweet than its 100 grams of residual sugar would suggest, thanks to bright acidity and citrus peel notes. This was served to me as partly frozen slush, which is the way Robert Mondavi enjoys this extremely refreshing wine.
A sweet pretty wine with lip-smacking flavors of ripe, sweet oranges, apricots and cherries, with a luscious edge of smoke, vanilla and cinnamon. Tastes quite sweet, with a crisp backbone of steely acidity.
As I stated earlier, Mondavi has launched an Italian varietal campaign, with good rather that sublime results. It has produced an aromatic, intense, moderately sweet yet crisp and beautifully constructed 1995 Moscato d'Oro... Mondavi's answer to the gorgeous Moscatos of Piedmont, Italy. It is a lovely, rich wine that should be over the next 1-2 years.

Our 2008 Moscato d’Oro’s intense aromas are perfumed with notes of jasmine flower, lychee (an Asian fruit), guava and ripe peach. The lush, sweet flavors—echoing the aroma’s floral and tropical fruit expression—are perfectly balanced with a crisp, citrusy finish. We made the wine entirely from Muscat Canelli grapes grown in our Wappo Hill Vineyard in Napa Valley’s Stags Leap District. We captured the grape variety’s fresh fruit character by fermenting the juice at cold temperatures.
