La Dame Rousse Domaine de la Mordorée Tavel Rosé Bei Ricardo. Chateau 2008
The Domaine de la Mordorée Tavel Rose La Dame Rousse 2008 and 2009 are about the best roses I've tasted. The 2008 paired very well with cold Honeybaked ham. Mental note: Grenache and rhone varietals are the main players here. Both 08 and 09 were elegant roses with inviting noses of mineral and cooling berry fruit; in the mouth pleasant initial acid bite which promptly opened into a glycerin-covered rush of rich warm fruit and mineral with a hint of floral. Finish lingered quite a while with a gentle sweet, oily, mineral, floral taste. Well-balanced, nothing extreme, full in the channels that matter. Off-dry, medium read more...
This wine is a blend of Viognier, Roussane, Marsanne, Grenache Blanc, Picpoul, Bourboulenc and Clairette. Clear and light lemon colour. Young and intense on the nose, it is a complex mix of almond, caramelised sugar and there is a good presence of the alcohol. (14%) 25% of the wine is fermented in oak barrel, which gives a lively and complex palate of white peach, violette and apricot. The toasted wood flavours are well integrated and give a round finish. Deep rose colour. Intense and rich on the nose, with plenty of candied aromas. "Zesty" on the palate, this rose is a classic Tavel, with a full bodied structure, good presence of alcohol (14.5%) and great flavours of strawberries, raspberries and roses. The finish is soft and long. Drink this wine well chilled for optimum pleasure. QC http://www.questionofwine.blogspot.com
Blend of 50% Grenache, 40% Syrah and 10% Cinsault. Nice and simple, few tannins. Great party wine.

Quite ripe and well-rounded for the vintage, with flattering blueberry, blackberry and fig paste notes liberally laced with spice, toast and fruitcake flavors. The long, toasty finish is dense, with a lightly firm edge. Drink now through 2022. 2,000 ... Wine Spectator.
