La Dame de Montrose 2006
A surfeit of oak on the nose with a certain sweet creme de cassis opulence. For the second wine of Montrose, the tannins indicate further aging possiblities (my 2006 Montrose rests securely on its laurels, such as these may be). This is a very typical 2006 Bordeaux from a northern commune with fairly prominent tannic structure and bright red fruit acting as counter-balance. My humble opinion says hold for 2-3 more years and the slight imbalance should naturally correct.

Sehr würziges Bouquet, tintige Ansätze, blumige Noten, kühl, im Untergrund tabakig, Lorbeerblattnoten, dahinter etwas Alpenheidelbeeren. Im Gaumen erstaunlich fein zu Beginn, kerniges Extrakt zeigend, knochig bis fleischig in der Textur, mittlerer Körper mit hervorstehender Muskulatur.
