Uncle Rob bought this wine to my housewarming. Didn't get to taste a full glass..but from the sip I had decided it was worth buying another bottle to enjoy.
Lets say insane value! Intensive colour with slight brown refelexes, deep forcefull nose withe notes of spices and toast on the palate fien tannins mouth filling aromes of redberrys - one of the few good Monteplucianos!
A good go to wine you can depend on to deliver a consistent taste. Would be nice if it had a little more flavor.
Montelpuciano d'Abruzzo has always been my go-to wine. And at $15 this particular bottle is the standard on which all other Montelpucianos are judged. For my taste buds this wine is perfectly balanced. Great with anything. I've had better Montelpucianos but only at a much higher a price, but really you have to get into the $60 range and up to find something comparable.

Big and juicy. Very ripe and plummy, with hints of raspberry sauce. Full-bodied and chewy, with lovely round and soft tannins and a long finish. A serious effort. Best from 2004 through 2007.
A terroir-driven wine that even comes with its own piece of grapevine on the bottle. Loaded with floral aromas, dates, and red berries, this medium-bodied red is great with pizza and red-sauce dishes.
Deep garnet-purple colour. Ripe cherry and tobacco leaf aromas with a touch of game. Medium-full body with good concentration of fruit and a medium to high level of balancing acidity. Medium+ level of grainy tannins. Long finish. Tasted July 2009.
Medium-bodied, with ripe red raspberry and black cherry notes. Subtle spice notes highlight the bright red fruit flavors, but the mouthfeel is smooth and mellow. Excellent table wine - pairs with almost anything!
A tasty red, with currant, passion fruit and fig, with a hint of spicy vanilla. Medium-bodied, with fine, well-integrated tannins and a clean, chocolaty finish. Drink now.
Shows aromas and flavors of forest fruits, with a hint of oak. Medium-bodied, with a well-balanced palate and a hint of vanilla on the finish. Nicely done. Drink now.
Aromas of roses dried flowers and fruit follow through to a medium-bodied palate with good fruit fine tannins and a medium finish. This is always excellent value. Drink now. 3000 cases made.

This is a very dark red wine. PB of The Wine Cask notices “Subtle cherry with loads of ripe juicy blackberry and light pipe tobacco nuances.”
