Tight on the nose with notes of graham crackers and fresh cream over green apple peels and growing spicy wood tones. Tight and slightly minerally on entry, this shows good tension in the mouth with a nice hint of caramel early on the palate, followed by sweet pear and apple fruit all fading into a smooth, gentle, spicy finish. Easy to drink and restrained but not particularly complex or deep. 87pts

Soft and gently floral on the nose with reticent notes of pithy citrus fruits, tangelo and grapefruit, along with slow to emerge perfumey oak notes. This is rather seductive on the nose. Bright and light in the mouth, it does have a certain mouth-filling quality. The fruit is really transparent and fresh. The oak influence, while subtly adding spice to the wine, really seems to be about texture. Wonderfully balanced and fresh, the fresh citrus and sour apple fruit on the palate leads to a modest finish that ends with some block, if sweet and attractive wood tones. 89pts

Strong green apple flavor with less creamy/buttery finish than I remember from other vintages. Enjoyed with mahi mahi and zucchini. Maybe better with a chicken dish.

In my opinion, the Monterrey blows the Sonoma out of the water. Complex and ripe with tropical fruit and a luscious mouthfeel.

Clear pale color. Slight oak, vanilla nose. Very nice on the palate--light bodied, table, vanilla, grapes flavor. Very light on the acid. US$11.70 at Von's supermarket

Bright straw yellow, aromas of ripe apples and pineapple, with notes of yellow apple, citrus, toasted nut and butterscotch, balanced to a moderately long finish. Great 'go-to' value.

This is a good value chard. A little more oak than I typically enjoy but it is traditional Sonoma chardonnay.

A consistently well-made domestic Chardonnay that is wallet and crowd friendly. La Crema's Chardonnay is balanced, with lively citrus zest and apple fruit character and a creamy mouth-feel.

This Chardonnay has notes of nectarine, apple, pineapple, and citrus that meld into a wonderful combination of fruit. The fruit is balanced by hazelnut, ginger and subtle butterscoth. The intense pear, nectarine and passion fruit are layered into a nice creamy finish.

The palate adds flavors of juicy yellow plum, lemon curd and vanilla custard. Rich tropical tones and a lingering spice add richness and texture to the long, fresh finish.

2007 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay bursts with enticing aromas of citrus, floral notes, butterscotch, lemon peel and a slight spicy quality. In the mouth, flavors of citrus, pear and honeysuckle combine with subtle toast and caramel, adding richness and texture to the long, lingering finish. A great addition to a nice tropical flower and fruit basket!

Opens with an intriguing interplay of lively citrus and subtle toasted oak, laced with just a kiss of butterscotch. The palate is round and nutty, with flavors of yellow apple and orange adding lushness, while well-balanced acidity creates a lovely vibrancy.
