La Crema 'Sonoma' Chardonnay 2011
Perhaps our most popular release overall, the Sonoma Coast Chardonnay opens with an intriguing interplay of lively citrus and subtle toasted oak, laced with just a kiss of butterscotch. The palate is round and nutty, with flavors of yellow apple and orange adding lushness, while well-balanced acidity creates a lovely vibrancy.
Editorial Reviews for La Crema 'Sonoma' Chardonnay
Tight on the nose with notes of graham crackers and fresh cream over green apple peels and growing spicy wood tones. Tight and slightly minerally on entry, this shows good tension in the mouth with a nice hint of caramel early on the palate, followed by sweet pear and apple fruit all fading into a smooth, gentle, spicy finish. Easy to drink and restrained but not particularly complex or deep. 87pts
Strong green apple flavor with less creamy/buttery finish than I remember from other vintages. Enjoyed with mahi mahi and zucchini. Maybe better with a chicken dish.
In my opinion, the Monterrey blows the Sonoma out of the water. Complex and ripe with tropical fruit and a luscious mouthfeel.

This Chardonnay has notes of nectarine, apple, pineapple, and citrus that meld into a wonderful combination of fruit. The fruit is balanced by hazelnut, ginger and subtle butterscoth. The intense pear, nectarine and passion fruit are layered into a nice creamy finish.
A consistently well-made domestic Chardonnay that is wallet and crowd friendly. La Crema's Chardonnay is balanced, with lively citrus zest and apple fruit character and a creamy mouth-feel.
2007 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay bursts with enticing aromas of citrus, floral notes, butterscotch, lemon peel and a slight spicy quality. In the mouth, flavors of citrus, pear and honeysuckle combine with subtle toast and caramel, adding richness and texture to the long, lingering finish. A great addition to a nice tropical flower and fruit basket!
The palate adds flavors of juicy yellow plum, lemon curd and vanilla custard. Rich tropical tones and a lingering spice add richness and texture to the long, fresh finish.
The nose is expressive, showing full aromas of ripe pear, apple and a touch of spice. On the palate, you get a creamy, smooth texture that carries forward, ripe pear fruit with a good dose of vanilla spice, oak and a hint of honey. Pair with chicken, fish and veggie dishes. Green-tinged gold. Lively citrus zest and quince aromas are complemented by suggestions of white flowers and chalky minerals. Racy, precise and nicely concentrated, offering zesty lemon and orange flavors and bright mineral lift. Finishes on a subtle note of iodine, with very good clarity and cut. This wine delivers fantastic value.

The fruit was harvested in the early morning hours to ensure the clusters arrived cold to the winery. Grapes were pressed to tank, and allowed to settle 24 hours before being barreled down for 100% barrel fermentation in 86% French oak (20% new). 100% of the blend underwent secondary malolactic fermentation in barrel. The wine was stirred every three weeks as it aged 6 months on the lees.
