Soft on the nose with gentle scents of nectarine, flowers, a touch of wood spice and a top note of clover honey. Ripe and round in the mouth with a soft richness that’s appealing. The fruit shows off white peach tones and has a gentle honey, brown spice edge to it as well as some buttery, baked pastry notes. A rather desserty flavor profile. The structure helps freshen things up as the acids are really vibrant, lending a lemon note right through the moderately long, apple and pineapple toned finish. The oak pops a bit again on the finish, though with a few months of age, I expect it’ll integrate just fine. 88pts

La Crema has a great reputation for Chardonnay but I found their 2010 Sonoma Coast to be lighter than I expected. The nose was citrus and vanilla and quite pleasant. But in the mouth, it was a bit dilute and missing the complexity of the higher quality Chardonnays. There is no comparison between this and the Ventana Gold Stripe 2010. My rating -- 85

A bone-dry Chardonnay for drinking now. This shows great structure, with a keen cut of acidity that brightens the mineral-driven orange and pineapple flavors. Wine Enthusiast. A Chardonnay wine from California in USA. 2010 La Crema Chardonnay Sonoma Coast 750ml

Winemaker's Notes:

This Chardonnay opens with an intriguing interplay of lively citrus and subtle toasted oak, laced with just a kiss of butterscotch. The palate is round and nutty, with flavors of yellow apple and orange adding lushness, while well-balanced acidity creates a lovely vibrancy.
