La Crema Los Carneros Pinot Gris 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

"This gem bursts with vibrant scents of orange blossom and floral notes that overlay juicy, crisp grapefruit, fresh pear and Meyer lemon flavors. A slightly mineral, spiced finish makes this a superbly versatile wine, great as an aperitif served well-chilled, or as a foil to mildly spicy cuisine." - Melissa Stackhouse, La Crema Winemaker # Appellation: Los Carneros # Composition: 96% Pinot Gris, 4% Chardonnay # Clonal Selection: Various # Type of Oak: 100% French # Time in Barrel: 3 months (portion of blend only) # Alcohol: 14.6% # T.A.: 0.69g/100ml # pH: 3.75 # R.S.: 0.33% # Cases Produced: 300

Once again, a solid value from La Crema. This is one of their limited availability wines that has a great flavour for the money. It is a little sweet but has good acidity and pairs well with spicy food ... yes, if you read my reviews I am always on the look out for wines that pair well with spicy food. Serve this one chilled as well.
