Editorial Reviews for La Crema Chardonnay Sonoma Rmp 90
Soft and gently floral on the nose with reticent notes of pithy citrus fruits, tangelo and grapefruit, along with slow to emerge perfumey oak notes. This is rather seductive on the nose. Bright and light in the mouth, it does have a certain mouth-filling quality. The fruit is really transparent and fresh. The oak influence, while subtly adding spice to the wine, really seems to be about texture. Wonderfully balanced and fresh, the fresh citrus and sour apple fruit on the palate leads to a modest finish that ends with some block, if sweet and attractive wood tones. 89pts
Clear pale color. Slight oak, vanilla nose. Very nice on the palate--light bodied, table, vanilla, grapes flavor. Very light on the acid. US$11.70 at Von's supermarket
Bright straw yellow, aromas of ripe apples and pineapple, with notes of yellow apple, citrus, toasted nut and butterscotch, balanced to a moderately long finish. Great 'go-to' value.
This is a good value chard. A little more oak than I typically enjoy but it is traditional Sonoma chardonnay.
Decent chardonnay at reasonable price =good value
Rich tasting with mango and lemon custard flavors. Very good

Hint of apple and cinnamon. If you don't like oak and ML at all, then pass. Otherwise, if you are similar to me and like both in moderation, this is a winner. Seemed to get better as it warmed up and got closer to room temperature. (172 views) Tasted by ajseda on 8/18/2012 & rated 94 points: The wine looks Yellow gold colored. The legs are Medium. Aromas of green apple citrus and clove are balanced by vanilla and caramel overtones. A rich, lingering finish of ripe fig and hazelnut enhances the bright pear and citrus flavors.

'The 2007 release of our Sonoma Coast Chardonnay bursts with vivid citrus and fresh green apple aromas, laced with subtle notes of honeysuckle and clove. On the palate, flavors broaden into rich spiced apple and crisp lime zest, with vanilla and caramel tones adding richness and texture on the finish.' - Melissa Stackhouse, La Crema Winemaker
Bright gold. Ripe nectarine and honeydew aromas are complemented by sweet butter and herbs. Quite fruit-driven but also surprisingly lively. Full-bodied melon and pit fruit flavors are subtly sweet and expansive, with a hint of anise coming up on the back end. Finishes smooth, with solid punch and lingering fruitiness.
There are just under one-half million cases of the 2008 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast, which is an excellent value, particularly when one considers it comes from the high rent district of the Sonoma Coast. Elegant white peach, apricot, and lemon blossom notes are present in this medium-bodied, crisp, well-made, barrel-fermented Chardonnay (almost three-quarters is put through malolactic fermentation). The wine possesses good freshness, purity, and depth. It should drink well for 2-3 years.
It takes some time for the completely dry pineapple flavors of this wine to develop, but as it takes on air, they go beyond the pleasantly musty scent of old books to develop fresher green tones and layers of flavor. Therersquo;s an intensity to the gripping, mouthwatering acidities, needing something as flavorful as pasta with wild mushrooms (perhaps tagliatelle with black trumpets and truffle oil) to match.
In my opinion, Sonoma County Chardonnays have a pleasing balance between oak and fruit. This La Crema reflects the oak aging it receives, showing smooth vanilla and creamy flavors and textures. It has a wonderful mouthfeel and can be enjoyed by itself or with a variety of entreacute;es.

A fine example of Russian River Valley Chardonnay, this vintage opens with aromas of yellow apple, crème brûlée and honey, along with subtle tones of hazelnut and spice. On the palate, baked pear and bright citrus are enveloped on a juicy mid-palate, with a kiss of toast leading to a rich, elegant finish.
