La Crema Chardonnay Sonoma Coast 2007
La Crema was founded in 1979 and quickly established itself as a pioneer for intensely flavored Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from cool climate. Continuing this tradition, La Crema pursues the ultimate expression of the Russian River Valley, Carneros and Anderson Valley by handcrafting wines of distinctive flavor which achieve elegance and balance. Like the Burgundy wine region of France, the vineyards of Sonoma Coast offer an unusually long, cool and even growing season. Lingering fog and wind from the nearby Pacific Ocean (or, in Los Carneros’ case, the San Pablo Bay), moderate temperatures throughout the growing season and slow the ripening process. With an extended “hang” time on the vines, the results at harvest are small berries with firm acidity and highly concentrated varietal aromas and flavors. "The 2007 release of our Sonoma Coast Chardonnay bursts with vivid citrus and fresh green apple aromas, laced with subtle notes of honeysuckle and clove. On the palate, flavors broaden into rich spiced apple and crisp lime zest, with vanilla and caramel tones adding richness and texture on the finish." - Melissa Stackhouse, La Crema Winemaker.
Solid Chardonnay for under $20. Tropical fruit, and pear in the nose. Good acidity and creamy with white fruit in taste. Great everyday wine.
On the nose: Flavors of citrus. On the palate: Spiced apple pie, vanilla. Overall very nice and full flavored.
I know WS gave this 90 pts and deservedly so. It's smooth and creamy with nose of fig, pineapple and almost honeysuckle. Nothing overpowering, both the nose and the palate are balanced excellently. It's got just the right amounts of butter, oak, and tropical fruit flavors without anything taking over. Crisp, clean and a lovely finish. All in all, one of the absolute best chardonnay experiences I have had and at such a reasonable price, wow!
On the nose, fruit, pears. Then very buttery rich.
caramel apple candy.. luv, luv, luv
Enjoyed it with a whole strawberry at the bottom of my wine glass - delicious! The wine infused strawberry at the end bursted with flavor and spring goodness.
At this point all I know is, as Chardonnays go, I like this one. I think I tend to like the Chardonnays termed as buttery but oh so many more to taste....

'The 2006 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay bursts with enticing aromas of citrus, floral notes, butterscotch, lemon peel and a slight spicy quality. In the mouth, flavors of citrus, pear and honeysuckle combine with subtle toast and caramel, adding richness and texture to the long, lingering finish.' - Melissa Stackhouse, La Crema Winemaker
Wine Tasting NotesNectarine, apple, pineapple, and citrus meld into a wonderful combination of fruit, which is balanced by hazelnut, ginger and subtle butterscotch. Intense pear, nectarine, and passion fruit lead creamy layers into the finish.

Fresh aromas of citrus, butterscotch and lemon peel open to appealing hints of jasmine and nutmeg. On the palate, rich buttercream, pear and citrus meld to create a plush, rounded middle, with toast and caramel adding richness and texture to the long, lingering finish.
90 Points - Wine Enthusiast"A beautiful Chardonnay, with a chalky minerality that anchors and braces ripe fruit flavors of Bosc pears and pineapples, subtlely accented with new smoky oak. Bone dry, this polished wine shows lots of finesse and complexity."
An elegant, stylish Chardonnay with understated fruit flavors of apples and melons, along with nuts and a bit of mineral. A wine of depth, complexity, and staying power.
