Editorial Reviews for La Conseillante
Tobacco and briar and oily wood on the nose then coffee beans and rusty red fruit add layers and detail. Elegant and fine in the mouth, with fresh fruit of modest scale underpinned by mineral and dried herb, herb stem character. This has very fresh tannins, a pretty fresh wine overall that is elegant with good fruit on the palate. It does finishes on the small side, and while I was going to say short but this has plenty of subtle length. 92pts
Hugely herbaceous, all tomato leaf, herb and wildflower on the nose – soft entry, a bit angular in the mouth with red fruit tones blunted by wood and wood tannin, drying short finish (83-84)
Classic Pomerol. Beautiful, sweet plum nose, almost intense. Soft and creamy mouthfeel with tasty, pure fruit already showing well - very faint spice showing. Savory crushed mineral finish. 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc. Still very young at this stage but already showing great things to come. 93+ points.
An extraordinary wine, full of complexity and with a great length. It will need around 15 years to reach its peak, but is already very enjoyable!
my favorite one!
Of the few I have tried, this is definitely a wine full of character, complex and wonderful...if only because of my friend Valmy...

Opened this wine and drank immediately. Very low tannins, smooth and silky. Hints of dark fruit and slight taste of tobacco. This wine was translucent and tended toward caramel in color. Very nice.

This is lively and refined with a blueberry and cherry character. Medium body with fine tannins and a tangy finish. Bright and lively. Salty. Savory. 87% merlot and 13% cabernet franc. James Suckling.
The Conseillante is a blend of 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc picked between 25 September and finishing with the latter on 7 October cropped at 30hl/ha. The wine is being raised in 65% new barrels. There is something "tranquil" about the aromatics of the La Conseillante. Fresh strawberry and violet scents gently waft from the glass: nothing powerful but very pure the oak seeming to be nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. This is quite a taut and linear La Consei
Rounded and juicy with lovely boysenberry and linzer torte flavors coursing along inlaid with bergamot and blood orange notes. Delivers a polished finish without exhibiting any of the vintages sinewy feel. Rock solid and beautifully rendered. A strong showing. J.M. Wine Spectator.
Dark red color. Fruity and fresh nose and once more appearing aromatic. Smooth and fruity on the palate the wine shows a medium body of elongated-shape structure. Suave and very tasty the wine is different that usual with less flesh in the mid-palate. Tasty finish of normal length and enjoyable. Jean-Marc Quarin - www.quarin.com
The La Conseillante is a blend of 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc. It has a very well defined bouquet with attractive dark berry and mulberry aromas the terroir really coming through with subtle notes of black truffle. The palate is medium-bodied and I think Jean-Michel has really achieved very the filigree tannins this year rendering this the most feminine La Conseillante I have tasted. It is silky smooth and yet there is certainly a tensile structure that should see it age nicely over 15-20 years. It is very composed almost understated towards the finish but this shows great persistency in the mouth without being overpowering. A "controlled" La Conseillante" with just a elegant beautiful finish. Tasted April 2012. Neal Martins Wine Journal.

Produced from an assemblage of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, (which is the same as the vineyard plantings,) the wine is slightly higher in alcohol than what they achieved in 2009 at 14.5% . Due to the high levels of acidity from 3.69 pH, there i... Jeff Leve. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2010 Conseillante, La 6000ml
