Food Pairings for L.A. Cetto Petit Syrah
Enjoyed on my final night in Mexico. The nose was full of fruit with fresh berries (black and raspberries), plums and earth with a hint of ethyls. In the mouth, while there was a lot of good fruit, and woody/earthy notes, the alcohol was prevalent. I also tasted a bit of sourness, but other tasters did not get the same sense, and I also noticed that in a significantly more expensive version from Stag’s Leap, which again only I noticed, so perhaps I have something personal against Petite Sirah…? Anyway, the overall thoughts on this were mixed, but it’s $7.50 in Mexico, so not painful to try on a whim.
I enjoyed it in my last night in Puerto Vallarta, it was almost the perfect companion for my grilled salmon and shrimp. It smelled fruity and tasted like red fruits.
