Kwv Red Blend Roodeberg 2003

Member Review by chainsaw:

I opened this bottle with one of my best friends. His first words were,"Whoo! That is a deviant bastard!" I think that is a good way to describe it. It is a strong, full-bodied wine. My first thought was,"Wow. This would be amazing with a steak."

Roodeberg:
Roodeberg winery was established by Dr. Charles Niehaus in Paarl, South Africa in the late 1940s. It’s named for the granite outcrop on the Boland mountains that casts a red hue during sunset. Now overseen by Thys Loubser, the winery is best known for red and white blends.

This wine is truely a diamond in the rough. With over a 50 year period this wine has become a benchmark for the Western Cape wine region of South Africa. Fruity, full flavoured with soft tennins, this wine can be enjoyed anytime but best with friends.

Should be AT LEAST 4 years old before you open it. Dry, rich, strong blend. Delicious.
