Roodeberg winery was established by Dr. Charles Niehaus in Paarl, South Africa in the late 1940s. It’s named for the granite outcrop on the Boland mountains that casts a red hue during sunset. Now overseen by Thys Loubser, the winery is best known for red and white blends.
very fruity but not harsh. good legs. quite smooth but light bodied. tasted a bit like a cab. I had it with a vegetable stir fry and they went well together. Quite nice but not spectacular....
Just opened a 375ML bottle a few minutes ago. July 26, 2010. Very fruity and fragrant red wine. Hints of blueberry, strawberry, and red currants. Light acidity, light tannin. Very nice tasting wine. I'm glad I bought 2 bottles at the 99 cent store. I was afraid it would be corked, now I wish I would've bought more. So, technically, 1 bottle of 750ML cost me only $2 when it would've cost me $31 elsewhere.
