Savory wild plum, wild berry, cherry cobbler and a hint of mocha give this plenty of personality. Keeps its focus through the long, persistent finish. Drink now through 2011. 100 cases made. Wine Spectator. A Pinot Noir wine from California in USA. 2006 Kutch Pinot Noir McDougall Ranch 750ml

Winemaker's Notes:

"The 2009 Pinot Noir McDougall Ranch is richer, deeper and fleshier than the Falstaff. Exotic spices, tangerine, crushed flowers and red berries are some of the notes that wrap around the finish in this juicy, expansive Pinot. The finish reveals gorgeous depth and plenty of harmony. Kutch used 50% whole clusters and aged the wine 17 months in French oak barrels, 30% new...90" WA 2/12 "Outstanding: This is even more aromatically complex than the impressive Falstaff with its floral, herbal, spice and ripe red and blue berry fruit aromas. The rich, dense and concentrated flavors possess seemingly buckets of dry extract yet the focus and balance are flawless. This is a big and powerful wine that isn't quite as refined as the Falstaff but compensates by offering even more length. In a word, terrific....93" BH 11/11 "Vivid ruby. Expansive, perfumed bouquet of candied red berries, rose oil, cinnamon and five-spice powder. Deep on the palate, offering sweet black raspberry and cherry-cola flavors and a late note of candied flowers. The finish repeats the spicy quality and lingers with very good clarity and sappiness. This is pretty seductive right now...91" IWC 05/11
