Kunde Estate Viognier Sonoma Valley 2009
"On a ranch where so many sites are just perfect for growing outstanding white wine grapes, it is no surprise that Viognier is a real star at Kunde Family Estate. This limited 2009 offering is an outstanding expression of the varietal, with floral and orange marmalade aromas. Lively acidity balances the slightly oily viscosity so characteristic of our Viognier, and the mouth becomes filled with floral, orange, and white pepper flavors. There is no shortage of flavor in Kunde Viognier."
Family owned and operated for five generations, Kunde Family Estate produces ultra-premium, estate-grown wines that are sustainably farmed in the finest traditions of Northern California's renowned Sonoma Valley.
Editorial Reviews for Kunde Estate Viognier Sonoma Valley
Smells bright and floral with pollen notes and fruit that verges towards the tropical with notes of pineapple and honeydew melon. A touch relaxed in the mouth with good acidity and restrained viscosity. Flavors are a touch exotic in the mouth as well with notes of candied pineapple and dried ginger dominating the mid-palate. Really nice acidity adds solid length to the finish that turns nicely citrussy and is clean and dry. 89pts
Floral perfumed nose with a hint of coconut. It has a spicy profile of florals and some nice tropical fruits. Nice. - Tasted at winery Feb 2011
One half glass
My first Viognier. Loved the weight and smoothness. Liked it a lot. Think I'll try a younger one.

Wine Tasting NotesBeautiful, intense floral nectar aromas of jasmine and orange blossoms. This wine expresses flavors of grapefruit and peaches in the mouth yet it is dry, with a clean and refreshing finish.
