A bit woody on the nose with a touch of lavender accenting the core of spicy black fruit. Super fresh in the mouth with a clear, crisp character to the blackberry/blueberry fruit. The tannins are well judged and very crisp accenting the long finish and while this is happy and exuberant it lacks a little complexity. 87pts

Vintage Notes

Upon bringing the fruit to the winery in the cool of the morning, a cold soak was followed by fermentation with a select yeast strain. The cuvee was pressed at dryness with the press wine taken off. The wine was aged for 16 months in French and American oak barrels, 75% new, and bottled in June 2008.

91 pts - Strawberries and honey on nose, not wimpy. Crisp acidity and firm tannins complement the full-bodied juicy black raspberries. Has a hint of ivy, earth.
