The Kunde Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is the epitome of Sonoma Valley Cabernet; herbal accents of fennel and anise wrap around a core of black raspberry and black cherry flavors so typical of Kunde's rolling hills and steep mountain grape blocks. A bit woody on the nose with a touch of lavender accenting the core of spicy black fruit. Super fresh in the mouth with a clear, crisp character to the blackberry/blueberry fruit. The tannins are well judged and very crisp accenting the long finish and while this is happy and exuberant it lacks a little complexity. 87pts
Vintage Notes
Upon bringing the fruit to the winery in the cool of the morning, a cold soak was followed by fermentation with a select yeast strain. The cuvee was pressed at dryness with the press wine taken off. The wine was aged for 16 months in French and American oak barrels, 75% new, and bottled in June 2008.

I really like this wine as a go-to Cab Sauv, not over complicated, smooth and fresh
91 pts - Strawberries and honey on nose, not wimpy. Crisp acidity and firm tannins complement the full-bodied juicy black raspberries. Has a hint of ivy, earth.
They are not joking when they say get cooking and make some steak. This is fabulous with a nice rib eye or NY Strip. Carmel flavors POP for me.
This Cabernet Sauvignon has aromas of raspberry and sage combine with a mouthful of chocolate richness.
