Soft and expansive in the mouth, though this tightens up on the mid-palate, leading to a very clear precise expression of orange-tinged orchard fruits with light mineral and pollen top notes that emerge on the moderately long finish. 89pts

Hand-harvested grapes, the use of only indigenous yeasts, and a few years of bottle aging make this a balanced, fragrant, and richly textured Chardonnay.
This Chardonnay balances flavor intensity with subtle winemaking to produce an elegant wine that we found reminiscent of a nice Burgundy. Its rich core of apple fruit gives way to gently assertive notes of vanilla, tropical flowers and earth. This wine has a track record of aging exceptionally well and remains one of New Zealand’s finest whites, year in and year out.
