Wine Spectator ReviewRated 92Offers gorgeous fruit purity, with ripe, fleshy, plush plum, currant and black cherry flavors that are framed and supported by lively acidity and firm tannins. It all adds up to a rich, concentrated, focused wine thats intense yet elegant and beautifully balanced. Best from 2009 through 2015.Wine Tasting NotesThe Kuleto Estate Cabernet is a beautiful purple color. Even at cellar temperature, it pumps out volumes of ripe bramble fruit and sweet spice aromas. As it warms in the glass, heady smells of black currants, red and black licorice candy, and toasted nuts emerge. The mouth is unctuous and incredibly flavorful. The tannins spread across the palate like butter on toast. Put your 03s aside to age a bit more and dip into this beauty while it still possess its youthful glow.
The Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a perfect example of New World, mountain-top Cabernet, and while it is quite ripe in character, it still maintains a purity and freshness. High-toned notes of red currant or cassis flow immediately from the glass followed by those of nutmeg and cocoa. With a little air, hints of caramel and a delicate smokiness appear. It enters the mouth softly and quickly fills all corners without any heat. Though bone dry, there is an impression of sweetness that comes from grape skins that ripened without severe heat. This wine is immediately gratifying but will definitely open up further by decanting an hour before enjoying. 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Syrah, 3% Malbec and 2% Petit Verdot
