Kuleto Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

I have to go back to 2004 to find an Estate Cabernet blend that is this enjoyable as a young wine. But whereas the 2004 was entirely about the fruity expression of the variety (due to an early harvest), the 2009 contains the complex- ity and woodsy richness of the 2005 (which was very late). It also has the incredibly sweet tannins and softness of a late-harvested vintage. This wine is loaded with plummy fruit aromas laced with those of toasted nuts or freshly grated nutmeg. It will appeal to those who like their cabs fruity, and those who enjoy the more complex side of the variety.

For Pat, the building of his rustically elegant Tuscan-style home, Villa Cucina, and the planting of the surrounding Kuleto Estate vineyards represented the next step in the evolution of a life committed to gracious living and excellence.
