Kudos Pinot Noir Yamhill-Carlton District Willamette Valley 2012
Nice, light to medium bodied Oregon pinot noir. Decent acidity, good black cherry, rhubarb, dark plum and dried prune overtones with a fairly long finish. Good but not great in that there aren't a lot of layers, just a straight forward dark fruit front end.Add winemaker's notes

Just not much going on here. Much less body than I had hoped for. Touches of smoke and ripe cherries on the nose with cherries and caramel on the palate. Unremarkable finish. I had higher expectations.
Three and a half glasses
Not very complex, a little thin, somewhat angular having acidity but lacking the balance of fruit with little depth of flavor. Started to open up after an hour but still not overwhelming.
A typical Oregon Pinot Noir. A little Cherry with just a hint of tartness. If you were doing a Pinot Noir tasting, this would be a good base line to compare others with.
