Kosta Browne Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands 2014

Winemaker's Notes:

Nose: Game, savory notes, dried fruits, olives, pretty and playful. Mouth: Deeply structured, spice, game and meat, savory, sour cherry, tangy acidity, richly textured with layered red fruits with dark notes. Barrel aged 15 months in 49% new French oak. Alcohol 14.5%. Not yet reviewed; 2013 vintage rated 93 points by Wine Spectator: Rustic and edgy, in an alluring style, with a crushed rock minerality to the vivid dark berry, raspberry and subtle earth and herb touches. The finish gains momentum and carries the flavors a long way. Drink now through 2021.

Flavorful, intense wines - that is our goal. We believe every wine should be bursting with flavor. This intensity should be part of a greater balance. We find that each of our vineyards has its own "sweet spot" of balance. It is our charge to guide each vineyard to its optimum flavor potential. Our single vineyard wines are blended to express the specific qualities and consistencies of our pedigreed vineyards. Pinot Noir is the perfect palate to define the terroir of these plantings. We offer two appellation wines: our Sonoma Coast and Russian River. These wines are blended to represent the best of our vineyards in each specific appellation. Quality is of utmost importance with these blends. Read less
