Kosta Browne Pinot Noir Russian River Valley Koplen Vineyard 2013

Winemaker's Notes:

92+ points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): The 2013 Pinot Noir Koplen Vineyard is distinguished by an intensely floral, savory profile that is impossible to miss. Crushed flowers, tobacco, herbs, smoke and red stone fruits open up beautifully as the wine takes shape in the glass. Today, the 2013 is still a bit tight because of its recent bottling, but it is striking, that much is clear. The inclusion of 12% whole clusters is enough to be felt in the wine's aromatic upper register, yet there is also more than enough fruit to provide balance. All the elements are in the right place. The 2013 Koplen appears to have a bright future. Drink: 2015-2022. (May 2015)

Flavorful, intense wines - that is our goal. We believe every wine should be bursting with flavor. This intensity should be part of a greater balance. We find that each of our vineyards has its own "sweet spot" of balance. It is our charge to guide each vineyard to its optimum flavor potential. Our single vineyard wines are blended to express the specific qualities and consistencies of our pedigreed vineyards. Pinot Noir is the perfect palate to define the terroir of these plantings. We offer two appellation wines: our Sonoma Coast and Russian River. These wines are blended to represent the best of our vineyards in each specific appellation. Quality is of utmost importance with these blends. Read less
