Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

[Chicken, blue smoke sauce, peppers] Different from the first time. Started very earthy, blueberry on the nose and the palate; spice. Later developed aromas of strawberry jam and bright fruit. Great balance. Very rich. This is fabulous stuff and these guys are living the Dream.

[The Harrison: striped bass c olives] Not decanted, drank over 2 hours. Ruby red color. Well-balanced. Lush red fruit, cranberry, dark cherry, and raspberry; spice and smoke. Very acidic. Cont'ed to evolve over the course of drinking. Prototypical RR Pinot. Great wine; drinking now, though has some life remaining. Have 1 bottle left; will decant the next for at least an hour.

Winemaker's Notes:

Reveals classic Russian River aromatics of rich, dark cherry, cola, chocolate, and vanilla. The vineyard produces rich, concentrated and layered fruit year after year. The 2002 is no exception and fills the palate with luscious dark cherry and chocolate with undertones of raspberry, cassis and vanilla filling out the palate and carrying across the finish. This wine is also deeply structured and will continue to drink well.
