Kosta Browne Kanzler Vineyard Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2013

Winemaker's Notes:

Wine Advocate Review
Rated 93
The last vineyard harvested, the 2013 Pinot Noir Kanzler Vineyard, wasn't brought in until between the 8th and 11th of October. Mostly destemmed and aged 16 months in just under 40% new French oak, it has a cool, fresh, perfumed style to go with lots of rose garden, framboise, black cherry and spice. Lightly textured, elegant and vibrant, it should benefit from a year in bottle and drink well through 2023.

Wine Tasting Notes
Aromatics: Richly concentrated blackberry and raspberry fruit accented by violets. A subtle and pleasing minerality helps to complement the lush briary fruit.
BR>On the palate: An abundance of black currant and wild berries. The opulent berry flavor drenches the palate. The middle softens to fig and sea-salted caramel, with restrained spice, intermingling to provide a long and decadent finish.

ALCOHOL 14.5%

Flavorful, intense wines - that is our goal. We believe every wine should be bursting with flavor. This intensity should be part of a greater balance. We find that each of our vineyards has its own "sweet spot" of balance. It is our charge to guide each vineyard to its optimum flavor potential. Our single vineyard wines are blended to express the specific qualities and consistencies of our pedigreed vineyards. Pinot Noir is the perfect palate to define the terroir of these plantings. We offer two appellation wines: our Sonoma Coast and Russian River. These wines are blended to represent the best of our vineyards in each specific appellation. Quality is of utmost importance with these blends. Read less
