Kosta Browne Gap's Crown Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2013

Winemaker's Notes:

Wine Advocate Review
Rated 94
From a large vineyard (Gap's Crown is roughly 130 acres), the 2013 Pinot Noir Gap's Crown Vineyard comes from a smaller 37-acre parcel owned by Kosta Browne, which lies at an elevation of 1,000 feet above sea level. Harvest all towards the end of September and aged 16 months in 51% new French oak, it has a slightly darker slant in its wild strawberry, black raspberry, spice and sappy flower stem-like aromas and flavors. Elegant, seamless and downright pretty, it grows on you with time in the glass and is a gorgeous Pinot Noir to drink over the coming decade.

Wine Tasting Notes
Aromatics: Wild flowers, cherry and huckleberry are followed by truffles and baking chocolate.
BR>On the palate: Precise and textured with chocolate cherry and briary fruit on the front palate. Notes of orange flower and fennel seed define a long and smooth finish.

ALCOHOL 14.3%

Flavorful, intense wines - that is our goal. We believe every wine should be bursting with flavor. This intensity should be part of a greater balance. We find that each of our vineyards has its own "sweet spot" of balance. It is our charge to guide each vineyard to its optimum flavor potential. Our single vineyard wines are blended to express the specific qualities and consistencies of our pedigreed vineyards. Pinot Noir is the perfect palate to define the terroir of these plantings. We offer two appellation wines: our Sonoma Coast and Russian River. These wines are blended to represent the best of our vineyards in each specific appellation. Quality is of utmost importance with these blends. Read less
