Korbel Natural´ 2011

Winemaker's Notes:

Korbel Natural' is a very dry, delicate champagne which exemplifies the fruit forward, Korbel "House Style." Sonoma County Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, primarily from the cool Russian River Valley give Korbel Natural' its unique crisp, fruit-centered flavor. Natural' was originally developed by Adolph Heck in the early 1960s as a dry, sophisticated alternative to the sweet and awkward bulk-processed sparkling wines commonly consumed at that time. Today, Korbel Natural's crispness still makes it agreat champagne to serve as an aperitif, with lighter fish dishes or grilled prawns. Natural' also pairs well with dishes using fruit, especially citrus.

Tasted Christmas eve at family get-together. Golden color. Med size bubbles. Neutral nose. Bone-dry very refreshing.

The best of Korbelandrsquo;s sparkling wines, and one that can stand next to bubblies that cost two or three times as much. Rich and dry, it has a very creamy mouthfeel, with subtle, complex flavors of lime, grapefruit, strawberry, and yeast. Itandrsquo;s a brut-style wine made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Crisp and lively, with user-friendly Asian pear, tropical fruit and spicy cream flavors. Drink now.

With minimum dosage, this is drier than Korbelandrsquo;s other brut styles, and also rougher in texture. It showcases citrus, bread dough and spicy flavors.

Medium weight, this 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay blend boasts dry apple-earth flavors with mild lime hints. Somewhat closed on the nose, it opens a bit on the palate, and throughout displays a fine, even bead. Finishes modestly with a hint of sweet fruit.
