Kokomo Red Bordeaux Blend Dry Creek Valley Cuvée Béla 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

Bordeaux meets Rhone in a different fashion. Instead of the typical Cabernet Sauvignon/Syrah blend, this is a combination of Cabernet Franc and Petite Sirah, and boy is it dark! Incredibly complex, yet balanced, the nose shows dust and leather. big round cherry, tobacco, and spice fill the palate and finishes with minerality, approachable tannins, and a surprising acidity!

Started in 2004 with the production of a single vineyard Cabernet from Mounts Vineyard, Kokomo Winery focuses on single vineyard wines that show a distinct terroir. We believe that our small production techniques and relationships with growers allow us to make wines that are individual and unique as the vineyards they were born from. We think you should drink local and think global and we are proud to support causes we believe in located in Sonoma County, like the annual Harmony Festival, Art for Life, KRCB, Food for Thought and the annual Mayacama Celebrity Golf Tournament, just to name a few. In January 2008, we celebrated the opening of our brand new winery at Timber Crest Farms in Dry Creek Valley. Visitors to our winery will enjoy a unique wine tasting experience - we have incorporated the tasting room into our cellar. We are located on a beautiful 120 acre vineyard on the Dry Creek East Bench, and our estate fruit consists of Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Primitivo, Muscat Blanc, and Sauvignon Blanc. Tasting Room Open Daily 11am - 4:30pm. Read less
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.
