Klinker Brick Zinfandel Lodi 2011
"With aromas of black cherry, cedar shavings, vanilla and spice, this wine offers rich, supple flavors of cherries and plum, perfect balance and a long, smooth, lingering finish. Nutmeg, cardamom and pepper enhance an exotic nose but bright, dark fruits enhance a superb mouth filling experience." -Winery
Editorial Reviews for Klinker Brick Zinfandel Lodi
Aged in 100% American oak Big, slightly musky oak filled aromas of loamy soil, toasted oak and sweet mulberry fruit that is a little jammy and caramel driven greet the nose. Vanilla and charry wood flavors are followed by a big, plump mouthful of jammy red fruits in the mouth. Big, and bold and spicy, this shows a bit of aggressive wood on the palate with wood tannins adding some dryness on the finish even in the face of the rather sweet fruit here. Acids do keep this fresh enough but it is one the sweet and spicy side with wood dominating the finish. 85pts

Succulent, juicy, dark berries give way to black pepper spice with notes of clove and nutmeg. Nice long, dry finish. Great with a summer barbecue, or a hearty autumn or winter stew.
The 2011 vintage produced smaller yields than previous vintages. Our Old Vine Zinfandel comes from vines with an average age of 85 years. On the nose, aromatics black raspberry, cedar shavings are paired with pepper and spice. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, with berries and dark cherry flavors, balanced with firm structure and a silky texture. As always, this wine has a smooth and lingering finish. - Winery Appellation: Lodi-Mokelumne River Varietal: Old Vine Zinfandel Cooperage: American Oak, 60% New and 40% Neutral for 15 months Harvest Date: October 17, 2011 Brix: 27.0? Alcohol: 15.8% Residual Sugar: .51 PH: 3.78 TA: .61 g/100ml
