Wow, this is intensely briary and brambly on the nose. Super varietal with raspberry fruit, a hint of Thin Mints and black pepper. Rich, chewy and intense on entry, this is full throttle Zin with intense raspberry and wild strawberry flavors, wrapped up in some creamy oak with hints of hickory smoked meats. There's enough acidity here to keep things lively and the tannins are nice and firm if well covered by all this fruit. The finish is an explosion of varietal fruit, leaning towards the red cherry and strawberry end of the spectrum with gentle vanilla highlights and a lovely insinuation of herbal freshness. This holds its alcohol remarkably well. 91pts

Bold flavor from the get go. Soft mouthfeel with a sweet palate that continually builds to the finish. Notable oak backing with a hint of vanilla and noticeable alcohol. Well done.

Lots of cinnamon spice on the nose with cedar. Dusty, baking spice aromas along with dried herbs and white pepper. Wild blackberry and bramble fruits. Boysenberry as well. Suave entry on the palate and medium bodied. Very flavorful with lots of zesty cinnamon spice. White pepper, dried herb and great red berry fruit. Red and black raspberry. Bramble fruits and baking spice. Nicely balanced and you'd not know by feel that it's 15.8% abv. Nice and screams out for bbq. 88 pts. 5/1/13

Aroma of cherry, berry, vanilla and a hint of cedar. Color is very dark purple. On the palate rich cherry, ripe plum, some faint hint of nutmeg along with raspberry and a peppery note. A medium long finish. The wine is jammy and really coats the whole mouth.

Amazing, bold, full bodied, fruity and spicy affordable zin! Best for the price in comparison to Earthquake's price. Has a slight tanin in the bottom of the tongue that slightly and pleasantly tingles. Love it.

Wow with my sliders this wine is amazing. It adds flavor to my meal without over-powering the irish cheddar and caramelized onions. Awesome!

The 2010 vintage in Lodi was extraordinary with a long, cool growing season yielding beautiful, evenly ripened fruit. With aromas of black cherry, cedar shavings, vanilla and spice, this wine offers rich, supple flavors of cherries and plum, perfect balance and a long, smooth, lingering finish. Nutmeg, cardamom and pepper enhance an exotic nose but bright, dark fruits enhance a superb mouth filling experience. No mistaking the American oak thatandrsquo;s been wrapped around this wine, lending a fennel sweetness to its otherwise juicy red fruit. The 15.8% alcohol is also quite, shall we say, present.

Produced in the Lodi region of California, this Zinfandel is rich, intense and has a real kick to it with a 15.8% alcohol content! With an average age of the vines at 85 years, the wine has balance and depth, with layers of ripe blackberries and raspberries and a nice, peppery note. This would be perfect to serve with a spicy Shrimp Diablo or barbecued ribs.
