- ($75) Good deep ruby-red. Spicy, pungent, bright nose combines raspberry, minerals, bitter chocolate and white pepper, all lifted by a floral topnote. Sappy and fresh in the mouth, with terrific precision and cut. This has an urgent crushed raspberry flavor and a seductive juiciness. Finishes quite primary, with excellent structure and grip. Already hard to resist but this should open further with a few years of bottle aging.

- A super ripe nose redolent of intense citrus aromas, notably grapefruit, which shows up again with a vengeance on the short and aggressive finish. I don't know if this bottle was representative of the wine or not but if it was, this is pretty ugly stuff and commercially unacceptable.
